Steps 1 & 2
Heat the molasses in the microwave. Combine it with the butter and sugar and mix well.
1. Add the flour, ginger, cinnamon, salt, and baking powder.
Beat to mix well.
Form the dough into 1 to 1 1/2-inch balls.
Dip the dough balls in the coarse sugar and arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet with space in between.
Make sure the balls are completely coated in the sugar.
Press the dough balls flat using the bottom of a juice glass.
Sprinkle more coarse sugar on top of the flattened dough rounds.
Bake to crisp, golden brown, crackly perfection.
