Ingredients
1poundshrimpdeveined and peeled
½teaspoonsea salt
½teaspoonground black pepper
¼cupcornstarch
4tablespoonsvegetable oildivided
2cupsbroccoli florets
½cupdried red chili
General Tso Sauce:
¼ cupsoy sauce
¼cuphoisin sauce
1 tablespoonrice vinegar
1tablespoonchili paste
1teaspoonsesame oil
Instructions
Prepare the Shrimp:Season the shrimp with salt and black pepper. Dredge them in cornstarch, making sure they’re evenly coated.
Fry the Shrimp:Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer and fry until golden brown and crispy on both sides. Remove and set aside.
Stir-Fry the Broccoli:Wipe out the pan and add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Stir-fry the broccoli for about 2 minutes until bright green and slightly tender
Mix the Sauce:In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, chili paste, and sesame oil.
Combine Everything:Return the shrimp to the pan along with the dried red chilies. Pour in the sauce and toss everything together until the shrimp and broccoli are evenly coated. Cook for another minute, just until the sauce thickens slightly.
Garnish and Serve:Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve hot with rice or noodles.

You can swap out the broccoli for snap peas, bell peppers, or another vegetable.
For extra crunch, toss the shrimp in panko breadcrumbs before frying.
